Connect ChatGPT First-time sign-in on desktop Chrome or Edge
- Install and enable Hatbox Connect in desktop Chrome or Edge.
- Start the connection from Hatbox and keep that tab open.
- Continue only when the confirmation page shows the Hatbox destination you expect.
- Return to the same Hatbox tab after confirmation.
Import a Character Local files or supported public links
Use a local JSON, PNG, or CHARX card, or paste a supported Chub or CharacterHub link. Review the Character before saving; saved Characters stay in this browser.
A model is unavailable Keep the selected route truthful
- Open Connect and recheck the model catalog for your account.
- If another supported text model is available, choose it explicitly.
- If the route is still unavailable, try again later—Hatbox will not switch models silently.
Back up or delete local data Characters, Personas, settings, and Chats
Me > Data exports a backup, deletes Chats, or resets Hatbox records. Disconnecting ChatGPT removes its stored session but keeps local content. Browser site-data controls remove everything.
Hatbox cannot find the extension Recheck, update, or restart the connection
- Open your browser's Extensions page and confirm Hatbox Connect is enabled.
- Return to Hatbox and use the recheck or Continue with ChatGPT action.
- If the relay protocol is unsupported, update the extension before trying again.
- If confirmation expires or stops, close it and restart from Hatbox.
Keep private information private
